Last year we went to Dumfries in July, and this year we will head towards Durham and the surrounding area on Tuesday, 13 June to Monday, 19 June.

We will stay at the four-star Sunderland Marriott Hotel on the sea-front with spacious bedrooms, a heated indoor swimming pool, and public rooms overlooking the sea.  All rooms are en suite, and a lift is available. The holiday is being organised and led by Anne Richards





During the holiday we will visit:

Chesters and Housesteads Roman forts on Hadrian's Wall; Durham Cathedral; have a cruise on the River Wear; Crook Hall and gardens; the Bowes Museum; Raby Castle and Gardens; Rokeby Park; Auckland Castle; Cherryburn, Gibside and Washington Old Hall, all NT; and St Peter's Church, Wearmouth.





Cost: £774 per person, based on minimum of 30.  Single Room supplement: £66.  The cost includes dinner, bed & breakfast every day, all coach travel, entrances to all attractions, free use of all leisure facilities at the hotel, gratuities, and administration.  £50 deposit to secure a place.  The remainder will be due in March 2017.  Holiday Travel Insurance is available for members who do not have their own travel insurance.
